It’s been a while or too long to be more specific since my last post. Now I would love to share my Japanese language experience in Hinode (located in Jalan Titiran 10, Bandung).

On March 2012, I applied Panasonic Scholarship for master program in Japan. I ticked “No experience of learning Japanese” in all documents. I follow the processes one by one until I got called to the final selection in Jakarta. During the interview session, I was asked to speak Japanese and I simply answered “I can’t speak Japanese yet”. Then I was fully blessed by getting the scholarship. Then it began my search for a good Japanese language course.

I looked up in the internet and found Hinode Japanese language course. Firstly, instead of this place, I preferred a private class. Turn out it is too frustrating. I grappled with my own incapability. So I decided to join Hinode on June 2012.

There are several good things about this place. Firstly, it is a class. If I could recommend the next generation of Indonesian scholars who will go to Japan, it is better to take a preparation in a grouped class. It is an opinion from my perspective as someone who had no experience with Japanese. I do not bother how well my classmates’ Japanese since I am a starter as well. More people you learn with also leads to more ideas in the air. Moreover, I had fun with the classmates.

Secondly, the environment supports very well, including the owners. The owners firstly invited me to come over and don’t bother whether I am going to join the class or not. They are sophisticates and willing to share their experience about life in Japan. Hinode got everything for a foreign language class, local teacher, native teacher, audio facility, numbers of books, and a nice classroom for sure.

Thirdly, I learnt plentifully. The teachers requested the students to read a sentence and a passage. Good pronunciation, intonation, and expression are required as well. I also trained with kanji characters. Although I am not averagely good yet, I hope one day I could read a novel written in Japanese. Same novel written in different language will give me different sensation, so I thought. From time to time, I was also taught about the events or any festivals in Japan. Furthermore, I did a Japanese calligraphy on the last classes.

It has been 9 months already from my first class. I will go to Japan this March and my classmates will go on the beginning of April. I have no word but excellent to Hinode. This is a very well-programmed Japanese language course. Since the students I learnt with will go to Japan as well, I felt like I have friends in Japan already tough the destinations differ. This place offered me more than what I could imagine from a language course. May success stays with the students, the teachers, and the owners of Hinode eternally.

How to Re-size Photos at One Time

I made this post as my friend request. However, I hope this post will be useful for you too.

1. First of all, make sure you put all the photos you want to re-size in one folder. In this case, I took “Sample Pictures” folder as example. Then right click on one picture, any picture. Select “Open With>Microsoft Office Picture Manager”

2.Then you click the button the will make the view as thumbnail. It’s located about at the top left.

3. Then you click “Edit > Select All”. Or simply just press “Ctrl+A”. Well, I’m a shortcut-freak if you wanna know ;).

4.Then you click “Edit Pictures”

5.Then there is a side bar will appear. Choose “Resize”

6. My favorite size is by clicking “Predefined width x height” then choose “Document - Large”. It won’t make you picture too small, but the file size will be around 1Mb.

7. Then click “OK”

8.Then all of the pictures will be stared before the file name. Then click save.

Well, hopefully it’s helpful.
